Press Release - Waterway Improvement Fund Grant Program

- September 1, 2004

Delegate Smigiel on behalf of the Cecil County Delegation is proud to announce that included in the 2005 Budget are several Cecil County projects which are to receive funds through the Waterway Improvement Fund Grant Program.
Port Deposit will receive $99,000 for the construction of a Comfort Station/Shelter and Jetty that will serve the existing boat ramp and day use park in Port Deposit's Marina Park.
Perryville is to receive $99,000 for the Phase II Walkway and dock to provide transient boaters access to the town.
Charlestown will receive two grants for $49,000. One will go towards a maintenance dredge for the existing Town pier to improve access for the boating public and another will be for a maintenance dredge for the fire-rescue boat pier.
These projects will provide an excellent opportunity for individuals and families to enjoy and appreciate our vast natural resources and ensure that the same opportunity will be available for future generations.
