Smigiel was recognized for his hard work during the
special session in getting Maryland's Child Sexual
Predator Bill passed. "Without Mike's efforts the
bill may not have passed," said House Minority
Whip Anthony O'Donnell (R-Calvert) "
Delegate Smigiel did a great job of working on this
bill during the regular session and he had the
foresight to resubmit a child sexual predator bill for
the special session and worked aggressively for its
passage. Many aspects of Smigiel's bill were merged
into Gov. Ehrlich's bill, which was passed," he
said.
